Job summary

St. Mary's Medical Center in West Virginia is seeking a full-time Patient Care Specialist to assist with patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities include performing ADLs, taking vital signs, EKG, phlebotomy, specimen collection, charting in the EMR, and communicating changes to the Charge Nurse. Requires a high school diploma/GED and CPCT or EKG/phlebotomy certifications; BLS is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Multi-skilled technician program including EKG, phlebotomy and direct patient care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with direct patient care under RN supervision.
• Take and document vital signs, assist with ADLs and nutrition.
• Perform 12-lead EKG and venipuncture as trained; report abnormalities to Charge Nurse.
