Job summary

St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Virginia seeks a full-time Patient Care Specialist to assist with patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

You will perform EKGs, venipuncture, essential vital signs, and daily living support, while accurately documenting in the electronic medical record and escalating abnormalities to the Charge Nurse. The role requires CPCT certification (NHA or ASPT) or equivalent credentials, along with current Basic Life Support (BLS).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; multi-skilled technician training preferred.
• CPCT certification through NHA or ASPT, or equivalent certifications in EKG/phlebotomy/patient care.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required and must be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Perform direct patient care under RN supervision, including ADLs, hygiene, and nourishment support.
• Conduct 12-lead EKG and venipuncture; recognize abnormalities and report to Charge Nurse.
• Accurately document in the EMR; monitor vital signs and intake/output; ensure patient safety.
