Job summary

St. Mary's Medical Center is seeking a Full Time Patient Care Specialist to assist in direct patient care under RN supervision. Responsibilities include performing 12-lead EKGs, phlebotomy, vitals, ADLs, and documenting patient information in the EMR.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma/GED and complete a multi-skilled technician program (including EKG and phlebotomy). BLS certification is required and prior clinical experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of a multi-skilled technician program including EKG, phlebotomy, and direct patient care is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care activities under RN supervision.
• Conduct 12-lead EKG and recognize tracing abnormalities.
• Collect blood samples by venipuncture or skin puncture.
• Document thoroughly in the electronic medical record or database.
• Assist with activities of daily living and patient nutrition as directed.
• Monitor vital signs and report deviations to nursing staff.
