Job summary

St. Mary's Medical Center is hiring a full-time Patient Care Specialist. Under the supervision of a registered nurse, you will assist with direct patient care, monitor vital signs, and support activities of daily living for patients from neonate to geriatrics.

The role requires EKG and phlebotomy training or relevant clinical experience, BLS certification, and ability to document accurately in the electronic medical record while maintaining patient safety and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; multi-skilled tech program preferred.
• Experience: EKG and Phlebotomy training with patient care in clinical setting preferred.
• CPCT certification or combined EKG/phlebotomy and nursing assistant/CCMA certifications with BLS is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with direct patient care under RN supervision.
• Measure and record vital signs; monitor abnormal results and report to Charge Nurse.
• Assist with activities of daily living and patient nourishment.
• Document accurately in the electronic medical record and ensure patient safety.
• Communicate with patients and families in a professional manner.
• Maintain confidentiality and participate in in-service trainings.
