Mayo Clinic in Wisconsin is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) to provide essential organizational, reception, and clerical support across patient care units. You will monitor supplies, answer call lights, and help manage orders in the electronic health record while collaborating with the care team.

The role requires strong interpersonal skills, excellent customer service, and flexibility to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. EPIC/EHR experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills required.
• HUC post-secondary program or HUC Certification preferred.
• Minimum of one year in a medical environment preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Working knowledge with EHR systems, EPIC preferred.
• Excellent customer service, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours (days/evenings/nights/weekends/holidays).
• Certifications/licensure as required by unit.

Responsibilities

• Provide organizational, receptionist, and clerical support to patient care units and healthcare team.
• Monitor and order supplies; promptly answer patient call lights and escalate patient needs to nursing staff.
• Assist care team with managing orders in the EHR.
• Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and facility staff; support continuum of care.
• Act as a resource to healthcare team and participate in continuous improvement activities.
• Anticipate and respond to team requests and patient needs.
