Job summary

Schuster Physical Therapy in Hickory, NC seeks a Patient Care Coordinator to join a private outpatient practice. The role focuses on coordinating patient care, pre-authorizations, scheduling, and patient communications to ensure smooth daily operations.

The ideal candidate will have at least three years in administrative/clerical roles, preferably in healthcare, with a high school diploma or GED. College education is a plus. Compensation ranges with room for growth based on experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; College education preferred.
• Three years of work experience in an administrative or clerical position, ideally in a health care setting.
• Experience in medical office environment is not required for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Build genuine and authentic relationships with patients.
• Builds and reviews charts prior to patient visit to determine need for referral or pre-authorization.
• Obtains and inputs pre-authorization, insurance, and demographic information into our Electronic Medical Records system.
• Verifies patient benefits and eligibility prior to completing referral.
• Reminds patients of upcoming appointments and changes to schedule.
• Collects payments and pertinent insurance information.
• Schedules patients for evaluations, re-evaluations and treatments.
• Maintains inventory, orders supplies and performs other office related duties.
• Always adheres to HIPAA guidelines.
