Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA) preferred.
• High school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years experience as medical assistant.

Responsibilities

• Handle administrative tasks for the physician/provider.
• Serve as liaison for the patient's medical care.
• Streamline patient-physician communications to ensure patient satisfaction.
• Provide medical literature and clinical prep instructions to patients.
• Schedule procedures to be performed by the physician.
• Review the physician's schedule for maximum scheduling efficiency.
• Arrange diagnostic tests, procedures and follow-up appointments.
• Obtain authorizations for procedures and tests.
• Call patients to confirm procedures a week in advance.
