Job summary

Barrow Brain and Spine is seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our Scottsdale team. You will register patients, collect insurance information, and help keep the EMR up to date.

You’ll greet patients, take vitals, and support clinicians by coordinating appointments, authorizations, and referrals. This role emphasizes patient experience, HIPAA compliance, and cross-functional collaboration within a world-class neurosurgery practice.

Qualifications

• Medical setting experience required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
• Bachelor’s degree a plus.

Responsibilities

• Registers new patients in the EMR prior to scheduling.
• Ensures initial consultations and reports are available to the physician.
• Opens chart encounters in AthenaOne and maintains patient records.
• Greet and room patients, takes vitals, and records assessments.
• Schedules follow-up appointments and coordinates referrals.
• Maintains HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
• Supports scheduling, billing, and communication with physician staff.
