Job summary

AEG Vision in Tennessee is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to join our on-site team. You will manage front desk operations, support patient flow, optimize scheduling, and coordinate across the care team to ensure a smooth, high-quality patient experience.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, answering calls and emails, verifying insurance, entering data in EMR, collecting co-pays, generating reports, and maintaining a clean, patient-ready front office while safeguarding confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for patient-centered service.
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and handle multiple priorities.
• Maintain patient and practice confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, customers, and vendors; primary contact for patient interactions.
• Answer calls, respond to inquiries, manage emails professionally.
• Schedule appointments and optimize provider schedules; manage cancellations and reschedules.
• Confirm appointments and send reminders to reduce no-shows.
• Verify insurance eligibility and patient demographics; enter data in EMR.
• Explain insurance coverage, benefits, and patient financial responsibility.
• Prepare patient charts and documentation ahead of visits.
• Collect and document charges, co-pays, and payments in EMR; allocate balances.
• Run reports to ensure charges are billed and up to date.
• Monitor daily patient flow and adjust schedules to optimize efficiency.
• Communicate wait times and next steps to patients.
• Coordinate with clinical teams for smooth transitions during visits.
• Support retention through recall and follow-up for annual and medically necessary visits.
• Maintain an organized, clean, patient-ready front office.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Practice Manager or Optometrist.
