Job summary

Prestige Staffing seeks a qualified Patient Care Coordinator for a temp-to-hire role in general surgery, with scheduling and Epic EMR experience. Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5pm, located in Decatur, GA.

You will coordinate outpatient care, serve as the primary contact for patients and families, arrange surgeries and follow-up visits, and collaborate with clinical staff to ensure timely access to care. Strong communication and patient-service focus are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 years of patient care coordination or scheduling experience preferred.
• 1-2 years of complex surgery scheduling is a plus.
• Experience in plastic surgery is a plus.
• Proficient computer skills and excellent communication are required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate outpatient operations and overall care coordination for patients, acting as primary point of contact for scheduling and customer service.
• Liaise with patient/family and clinical staff from multiple departments to improve patient experience.
• Coordinate and secure related patient appointments for episodes of care in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with physicians and care team to triage, coordinate, and manage patient care experience.

Pay: $20-24/hr.

Contract Length: 3+ months temp to perm

Job Description

• This position supports the outpatient operations with overall care coordination for patients, serving as their primary point of contact for all customer service, administrative and scheduling needs.
• They act as the liaison for the patient and family, working with both administrative and clinical staff from multiple departments to improve the patient's overall experience
• Position enhances the patient experience by serving as the primary point of contact and administrative care coordinator for established patients and/or family members.
• They ensure that all related patient appointments for an episode of care are secured in a timely manner and coordinated for patient convenience and address and resolve process or administrative issues impeding timely access to care.
• Responsible for collaborating with physicians and members of the care delivery team to triage, coordinate and consistently manage the patient care experience.
• Position works with patients and families to answer questions, provide emotional support and resolve issues concerning the administrative coordination of their care. Administratively coordinates care for established patients and serves as the primary point of care for these patients and their families.
• Collaborates with nursing and physician teams to ensure appropriate appointments are secured in a timely manner. This would include return visit coordination, Surgery and ancillary appointment scheduling.
• Treats all individuals with dignity and respect and participates in activities to improve working relationships within the section.
• Communicates with staff complimentary/constructive feedback from self and others.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School or GED a must
• 3-5 years of recent patient care coordination or patient scheduling preferred
• 1-2 years of recent complex surgery scheduling is a plus
• Experience working in plastic surgery a plus
• Proficient computer skills required.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.
• Ability to provide a high level of customer service is required.
• Must be patient focused and willing to go out of your way to ensure all patients and families are kept in the loop.
• Able to pass drug test and criminal background
