Job summary

AEG Vision in Charlotte, MI is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to deliver exceptional service at check-in and check-out while guiding patients through the visit process in a fast-paced ophthalmology practice.

You will greet patients, answer calls, collect and verify insurance information, enter data into EMR, and assist with accurate billing and scheduling to ensure smooth patient flow.

Qualifications

Patient Care Coordinators are responsible for providing exceptional service by welcoming our patients and ensuring all check-in and checkout processes are completed.

  • Acknowledge and greets patients, customer, and vendors as they walk into the practice, in a friendly and welcoming manner
  • Answers and responds to telephone inquiries in a professional and timely manner
  • Gathers patients and insurance information
  • Verifies and enters patient demographics into EMR ensuring all fields are complete
  • Verifies vision and medical insurance information and enters EMR
  • Maintains a clear understanding of insurance plans and is able to communicate insurance information to the patients
  • Pulls schedules to ensure insurance eligibility prior to patient appointment and ensures files are complete
  • Prepare insurance claims and run reports to ensure all charges are billed and filed
  • Print and prepare forms for patients visit
  • Collects and documents all charges, co-pays, and payments into EMR
  • Allocates balances to insurance as needed
  • Always maintains a clean workspace
  • Practices economy in the use of _me, equipment, and supplies
  • Performs other duties as needed and as assigned by manager
