Qualifications

• Basic computer literacy and ability to learn EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and be the primary contact for patient interactions.
• Answer calls, respond to inquiries, and manage emails professionally.
• Schedule patient appointments and optimize provider schedules.
• Send appointment confirmations and reminders to reduce no-shows.
• Verify insurance eligibility and maintain patient demographics in EMR.
• Explain insurance coverage and patient financial responsibility.
• Prepare charts and documents before visits to support flow.
• Process charges, co-pays, and payments in EMR; monitor balances.
• Run reports to ensure charges are billed and up to date.
• Monitor patient flow and adjust schedules to prevent bottlenecks.
• Communicate wait times and next steps to maintain a positive experience.
• Coordinate with clinical/optical teams for seamless care transitions.
• Support recall and reactivation outreach for retention.
• Assist in maintaining an organized, clean front office.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Practice Manager/Optometrist.
