AEG Vision is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to manage front desk operations, patient flow, and scheduling across the care team. You will anticipate needs, communicate clearly, and coordinate with providers to ensure a high-quality patient experience.

The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, the ability to handle multiple priorities, and a commitment to patient confidentiality in a fast-paced ophthalmic practice environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer literacy and ability to learn practice management systems (EMR).
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, customers, and vendors in a friendly, professional manner as the primary point of contact.
• Answer calls, respond to inquiries, and manage emails or digital communications promptly.
• Schedule patient appointments and support provider schedule optimization.
• Confirm appointments and send reminders to reduce no-shows.
• Verify insurance eligibility and patient demographics; enter data in EMR.
• Communicate coverage, benefits, and patient financial responsibility.
• Prepare patient charts and documentation ahead of visits.
• Record charges, co-pays, and payments in EMR; monitor balances and assist with claim prep.
• Run reports to ensure charges are billed and up to date.
• Monitor daily patient flow and adjust schedules to avoid bottlenecks.
• Communicate wait times and next steps to patients.
• Coordinate with clinical and optical teams for smooth transitions.
• Support patient retention with follow-up, recalls, and annual/medically necessary appointments.
• Maintain an organized, clean front office environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Practice Manager or Optometrist.
