Job summary

Gila Regional Medical Center is seeking a Clinic Support Specialist who will greet patients, manage check-out, and ensure accurate documentation from arrival to departure. You will support practice operations and maintain patient records with a focus on timely care delivery.

Responsibilities include verifying insurance, handling referrals, and supporting clinic workflow while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum one year experience in a healthcare setting, medical office preferred.
• EMR experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to maintain a courteous and professional working relationship with patients and staff, even in times of stress and interruption, while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
• Proficiency with computers, and comfortable learning new IT applications.

Responsibilities

• Greets all incoming patients in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Provide prompt check-out service, including appropriate documentation, as directed by the medical provider and staff.
• Schedule office appointments and hospital follow-up exams.
• Maintain a calm and supportive environment for patients and caregivers.
• Maintain confidentiality of Protected Health Information and HIPAA privacy notice documentation.
• Cross train in other areas of clinic practice as part of the clinic network’s staffing support process.
• Verify insurance status and obtain required documentation.
• Prepare and submit all prior authorization requests and outgoing referrals with proper documentation.
