Job summary

East Hawaii Region of Hawai`i Health Systems Corporation seeks a Clinic Receptionist to be the friendly first contact at our East Hawaiʻi clinics. You will greet patients, verify insurance, collect docs, and help ensure a smooth outpatient experience.

You will schedule appointments, issue reminders, prepare charts, handle calls, assist with payments and referrals, and support staff with general clerical tasks, contributing to high-quality patient care and service.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• General Experience: 2 years clerical/admin experience with office procedures, customer service, and basic computer skills.
• Specialized Experience II: 6 months clerical duties in healthcare/clinic setting (registration, scheduling, data entry, medical records).
• Skills: strong communication, interpersonal skills, attention to detail, multitasking, customer service.
• Typing: preferred 40 words per minute with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients, verify insurance, and collect required documents.
• Schedule appointments, send reminders, and provide pre-visit instructions.
• Prepare patient charts, verify authorizations, and coordinate referrals and transfers.
• Answer calls, relay messages, and assist with patient inquiries and concerns.
• Collect payments, issue receipts, and discuss financial options for patients.
• Maintain patient records and assist with general clerical tasks.
