Job summary

Seattle Children's is seeking a Telephone Operator to answer high-volume calls from patients and families, and to route calls to the appropriate providers and teams. You will support the community and clinic partners with information and compassionate service, using multiple software tools to manage calls and on-call schedules.

The role emphasizes empathy, attention to detail, effective communication, and teamwork across hospital partners.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent experience.
• Basic computer skills.
• Previous experience answering high volume telephone lines.
• Previous work or volunteer experience interacting with the public in a customer service capacity.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls from patients, families, the community, and internal hospital staff and connect callers to providers, teams, and resources.
• Provide information and customer service to families using critical thinking to determine caller requests and routing.
• Use multiple software applications to process calls, deliver communications for hospital emergencies, and maintain on-call schedules for clinical teams.
