Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to support patient care under the supervision of registered nurses and licensed practical nurses. The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and compassionate care within Mercy's healthcare settings.

Responsibilities include assisting with routine clinical tasks and non-clinical duties essential to delivering high-quality patient care, while meeting the state-required training and competency milestones.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, CNA/CPTC or enrollment in healthcare program.
• BLS within one month of hire; PCA competencies within 3 months.
• Must be able to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds and prolonged standing/walking.

Responsibilities

• Assist in individualized patient care under the direction of the RN or LPN.
• Perform designated clinical procedures and non-clinical support tasks essential to patient care.
• Work cooperatively with the team and participate in Mercy's UAP training program as needed.
