Job summary

South Shore Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant II to support direct patient care across nursing areas and assist with safe patient transport by wheelchair or stretcher. The role includes performing phlebotomy tasks as competency is demonstrated, and maintaining documentation of services under RN supervision.

The NA II will also serve as a Patient Observer when required, ensuring patient safety and participating in ongoing professional development, including annual competency assessments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Previous Nursing Assistant or equivalent experience preferred.
• BLS - Basic Life Support
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under RN supervision.
• Observe, obtain and report patient data to RN.
• Respond to acuity and emergent situations as directed by nursing staff.
• Participate in patient safety rounds and adhere to safety protocols.
• Assist with phlebotomy duties as competency is demonstrated and documented.
