Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Minnesota is seeking Patient Care Assistants (PCA) to support hospital patients alongside registered nurses and healthcare professionals. A structured training program will develop the knowledge and skills needed to provide safe, compassionate care.

Roles include assisting with daily activities, vital signs, and documentation in the EHR. Positions are 0.5–0.7 FTE (20–56 hours per week) with a variety of day/evening shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age prior to start date.
• Must be able to read, write, communicate, and understand English.
• Ability to follow written and verbal directions.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care by assisting with activities of daily living, including hygiene, mobility, nutrition support, and comfort needs.
• Obtain and document vital signs, intake and output, and other patient information in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Support a safe patient care environment through adherence to established safety practices and protocols.
• Communicate and collaborate with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team to support care delivery.
