Job summary

Mayo Clinic is hiring Patient Care Assistants (PCA) to work alongside registered nurses and healthcare professionals in caring for hospitalized patients, with structured training provided. Start dates align with onsite events and interview processes; positions are part-time with 0.5–0.7 FTE (20–56 hours per week).

Qualifications include being 18+, English literacy, and completing 12 college credits or CNA training; Basic Life Support may be provided if not current.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old prior to start date.
• Must be able to read, write, communicate, and understand English.
• Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
• Completion of 12 college credits -OR- Nursing Assistant training or equivalent preferred.
• Basic Life Support certification will be provided if not currently held.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care by assisting with activities of daily living (hygiene, mobility, nutrition, comfort).
• Obtain and document vital signs, intake/output, and other patient information in the EHR.
• Support a safe patient care environment by following established safety practices and protocols.
• Communicate and collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team to support care delivery.
