Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Minnesota is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to support hospitalized patients alongside registered nurses and healthcare professionals. You will participate in a structured training program and develop skills for safe, compassionate care.

The role offers part-time, day/evening shifts with 0.5–0.7 FTE potential and scheduling discussed at interview. Prior CNA or patient care experience is helpful; no prior healthcare experience is required for training.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, communicate and understand English.
• Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
• No healthcare experience required, training provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care by assisting with activities of daily living (hygiene, mobility, nutrition, comfort).
• Obtain and document vital signs and intake/output in the EHR.
• Support safe patient care through adherence to safety protocols.
• Communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team to support care delivery.
