Job summary

Mayo Clinic is hiring Patient Care Assistants (PCA) for part‑time day/evening shifts at Minnesota campuses. You will work with registered nurses to support hospitalized patients, with training provided. A 20-56 hour weekly schedule and on-site event opportunities are available to qualified applicants.

Qualifications include 18+ years old, English literacy, and CNA training or equivalent preferred. Certification in Basic Life Support is provided if needed during orientation.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older at start date.
• Must be able to read, write, communicate, and understand English.
• Completion of 12 college credits -OR- High school diploma/ GED with Nursing Assistant training or equivalent preferred.
• Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from American Heart Association or American Red Cross; orientation will include certification if not currently held.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care by assisting with activities of daily living (hygiene, mobility, nutrition support, comfort).
• Obtain and document vital signs, intake/output, and other information in the EHR.
• Support a safe patient care environment by following safety practices and protocols.
• Communicate and collaborate with patients, families, and the healthcare team to support care delivery.
