Description

As a Patient Care Assistant, you will provide hygiene and comfort measures and selected nursing procedures under the supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN). You must demonstrate the skills and knowledge necessary to care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Responsibilities include bathing, grooming, and feeding patients.

Responsibilities Include

• Identify patient needs and report to RN.
• Carry out delegated nursing actions appropriately.
• Deliver nursing care demonstrating knowledge and sound judgment.
• Report physical and emotional reactions to the holistic care plan.
• Complete charts/forms accurately and timely (e.g., Vital Signs, weights, Intake and Output, documentation on Flow Sheet).
• Reinforce patient teaching and instructions from the RN.
• Receive shift report and communicate continuously with the RN.
• Seek knowledge about patient’s condition, disease, or treatment to improve care.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in patient care, including taking vital signs.
• Nursing students with at least one clinical rotation encouraged to apply.
• BLS certification required or obtainable within 3 months of hire.
• Previous CNA training or experience is a plus.
