A leading healthcare provider in Philadelphia is seeking a part-time nursing assistant for night shifts. This role involves providing individualized patient care, monitoring conditions, and collaborating with nursing personnel. The ideal candidate will demonstrate effective communication and teamwork, ensuring high-quality care while adhering to hospital policies.
The nursing assistant is responsible for completing admissions according to policy, including room setup, vital signs, and orientation. They prioritize and organize work assignments, adjusting based on changing situations in collaboration with licensed nursing personnel. Tasks are completed within the assigned time frame. The role involves monitoring patient conditions and identifying potential risk factors, recognizing and addressing patients' special needs, and providing individualized care, including pain management and supportive issues.
The nursing assistant assumes accountability for delivering patient care within their scope, learns and communicates policies and procedures, and demonstrates teamwork by promptly and courteously answering call lights and supporting educational environments for students and new employees. They may serve as a preceptor when necessary, understand their role per hospital policies and State Board regulations, and utilize information management systems like Meditech to enhance communication.
Effective communication of patient condition changes, transfer responsibilities, and shift updates to licensed staff is essential. The role includes cooperating with all hospital departments during patient admissions and transfers, maintaining fall risk precautions, and running errands as needed.
