Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking a Nursing Assistant at Advocate Christ Medical Center. This full-time role (36 hours/week) supports RNs in daily patient care, vital sign monitoring, and documentation in the EMR.

The position emphasizes patient safety, comfort, and efficient unit operations. You will assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and routine patient care activities, while maintaining infection control and proper body mechanics.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills required.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care including bathing, hygiene, feeding, activity orders and ambulation.
• Measure and document vital signs and other patient data; document in EMR.
• Perform rounding and communicate observations to RN.
• Support admission, transfer and discharge processes under RN supervision.
• Ensure patient call lights are within reach and respond promptly.
• Collect specimens and perform point-of-care testing as indicated.
• Maintain stock and clean nursing areas and equipment.
• Assist with patient positioning, transfers, and dietary needs.
• Maintain skin integrity and proper body alignment; assist with nursing tasks.
• May assist with IV removal, post-mortem care, and bladder scans as required.
