Job summary

Advocate Health Care in the United States is seeking a CNA for the Med Surg IU 1 department on a full-time basis. Three 12-hour night shifts 1830-0700, every 3rd weekend, rotating holidays, with benefits eligibility.

You will assist RNs with daily patient care, perform measurements and documentation in the EMR, and participate in admissions, transfers and discharges under supervision. Maintain equipment and supplies, ensure patient safety, and support nutritional and mobility needs.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills necessary for documentation in EMR and patient records.
• Excellent oral and written communication with patients, families, and team members.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to set priorities in a fast-paced care environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care including bathing, hygiene, feeding, activity orders, and ambulation.
• Measure and document vitals and inputs/outputs; use EMR for timely, accurate entries.
• Perform rounding under RN supervision and communicate observations and patient needs.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges; prepare room and orient patient.
• Ensure call light is accessible and answered promptly; monitor patient safety.
• Collect specimens and perform point-of-care testing per approved lab processes.
