Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the 34601 Carolinas Medical Center: Mercy - Admission Discharge Transition Unit in Charlotte, NC. This full-time role (36 hours/week) provides direct patient care and support under the supervision of registered nurses.

Qualifications

• Good communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to perform basic math and record data accurately.
• CPR (Heart Saver) certification required within 6 months of employment.
• Certification as a Nursing Assistant (State of Illinois) required/preferred.

Responsibilities

• Introduces self and role to patient at start of shift and provide water if permitted.
• Assists with call lights, transfers, and mobility as directed by RN.
• Supports patient daily care including hygiene, meals, and bedding.
• Maintains clean, safe unit environment and responds to patient needs and calls.
• Documents patient information and observes changes in condition for RN input.
• Participates in patient admission, transfer and discharge processes under RN supervision.
• Addresses patient and family concerns and contributes to CQI initiatives.
