Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent with 2+ years in healthcare or related field.
  • Knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10 & CPT coding.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, and customer service experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls, relay messages, schedule clinical appointments and communicate with referring offices.
  • Schedule appointments using computerized systems and coordinate medical records.
  • Coordinate with departments to ensure physician coverage for procedures.
  • Maintain physician calendars and arrange meetings as required.
  • Schedule tests and obtain pre-certifications from insurers.
  • Schedule laboratory tests and communicate preparation to patients.
  • Prepare paperwork for patients and anticipate their needs.
  • Maintain and organize patient charts and confidential files.
  • Monitor office supplies and support department operations.
  • Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
