Washington University in Saint Louis is seeking a Patient Billing Services Representative II to serve as the friendly face of the department, ensuring accurate check-in, verifying insurance, and guiding patients through the billing process. This role requires evenings and some Saturdays and may involve local travel to other Orthopedic locations.

You will handle patient inquiries, schedule appointments, collect insurance details, and support staff with billing and account maintenance.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service mindset and ability to explain billing processes to patients.
• Ability to register new patients and assist with form completion.
• Familiarity with insurance information gathering and referral processes.

Responsibilities

• Obtains insurance information from patients and counsels financial assistance options.
• Registers all new patients and assists with form completion.
• Reviews schedule for new patients and updates as needed.
• Calls patients with appointment reminders and collects insurance details.
• Explains billing process to patients and answers inquiries from them and third-party payers.
• Explains billing processes to staff and assists with basic account maintenance.
• Assists patients with insurance questions regarding billing.
