Job summary

Lakeside Behavioral Health System in Memphis seeks a Patient Account Representative - Biller to maintain billing systems, submit claims accurately, and handle follow-up with insurers. You will document accounts and assist patients with billing questions in a collaborative hospital setting.

Required are an Associate degree in accounting/finance/business (or equivalent) and at least two years in healthcare reimbursement, plus strong HIPAA compliance and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in accounting/finance/business preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of healthcare reimbursement and third-party billing experience.
• Ability to read and interpret EOBs and understand overpayments/recoupments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the billing system and ensure claims are submitted accurately and on time.
• Review billing forms (UBs/1500s) for completeness and correctness.
• Manage claim follow-up, including appeals and adjustment requests.
• Document patient accounts appropriately.
• Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim status and next steps.
• Assist patients with billing questions and financial responsibility details.
• Accept patient payments when needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
