Job summary

The US Oncology Network in Bastrop, TX is seeking a Patient Benefits Representative to educate patients on insurance coverage and benefits, assess financial need, and help with eligibility and intake in the Oncology and Radiation Departments.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication, experience with insurance systems, and familiarity with CPT/HCPCS coding; level 1 or Sr depending on experience; 8:30-5:00 Mon-Fri.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum three (3) years patient pre-services coordinator or equivalent.
• Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) required.
• Knowledge of CPT coding and HCPCS coding application.
• Clear verbal communication and proper terminology.
• Complete required e-learning within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Obtain insurance coverage information and educate on benefits and costs.
• Assess patient financial ability and discuss payment arrangements.
• Complete reimbursement and liability forms for billing.
• Obtain pre-authorization or referral codes before treatment.
• Verify and update patient demographics and coverage in the system.
