Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum three years patient pre-services coordinator experience.
• Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
• Demonstrate knowledge of CPT coding and HCPCS coding application.
• Must be able to verbally communicate clearly and utilize the appropriate terminology.
• Must successfully complete required e-learning courses within 90 days of occupying position.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients on insurance coverage, benefits, co-pays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses.
• Assess patients' financial ability and discuss payment arrangements; inform about assistance programs.
• Update patient eligibility, coverage, and benefits in the system.
• Obtain insurance pre-authorization or referral codes prior to treatment.
• Review patient balances and notify front desk for collection steps.
• Verify demographics and coverage at each patient visit per SOPs.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPPA compliance; uphold organizational standards.
• Perform additional duties as requested.
