Job summary

The US Oncology Network, at Texas Oncology in Dallas, seeks a Patient Benefits Representative to educate patients on insurance coverage, assist with financial aid, and manage eligibility and benefits in systems. This is a full-time role supporting Medical and Gynecological Oncology departments.

The candidate should have a high school diploma, 3+ years in patient pre-services, and knowledge of CPT/HCPCS coding. Level 1 or Sr based on experience. Monday–Friday schedule, 7:30a–5:00p.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum three years patient pre-services coordinator experience.
• Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) required.
• Demonstrate knowledge of CPT coding and HCPCS coding.
• Must be able to verbally communicate clearly and use correct terminology.
• Must complete required e-learning courses within 90 days of occupying position.

Responsibilities

• Before treatment, obtain insurance info and educate on coverage, co-pays, deductibles, and OOP costs.
• Assess affordability and discuss payment plans; educate on financial assistance options.
• Complete Patient Cost Estimate forms based on diagnosis and coverage.
• Process reimbursement and liability forms for patient review; forward to billing.
• Obtain pre-authorization or referral codes from Clinical Reviewer.
• Review balances and inform front desk for patient appointments.
• Verify co-pays are correctly entered in the system.
• Update demographics and insurance at each visit per SOP.
• Maintain knowledge of financial aide options; network with providers.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance; keep manuals updated.
