Job summary

The US Oncology Network is seeking a Patient Benefits Representative to support the Breast Surgery Department at Texas Oncology in Dallas, TX. This full-time role involves educating patients about insurance coverage and benefits, assessing financial needs, and coordinating financing options within HIPAA-compliant standards.

The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule, with training available from the current team, and opportunities to grow from Level 1 to Sr level based on experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum three (3) years pre-services coordinator or equivalent.
• Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) required.
• Demonstrate knowledge of CPT coding and HCPCS coding application.
• Must be able to verbally communicate clearly and utilize the appropriate terminology.
• Must successfully complete required e-learning courses within 90 days of occupying position.

Responsibilities

• Obtain insurance coverage information and educate patient on benefits and costs.
• Assess patient's ability to meet expenses and discuss payment arrangements.
• Complete Patient Cost Estimate form based on diagnosis and coverage.
• Obtain pre-authorization or referral codes prior to treatment.
• Review patient balances and notify front desk of patients to meet with.
• Ensure correct co-pay entry and collection.
• Verify demographics and coverage at each visit.
• Stay current on financial aid options and build relationships with providers.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to SOPs.
• Perform additional duties as requested.
