Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas Hospitals in Nashville, TN seeks a bedside caregiver in the Float department for night PRN shifts across Nashville-area locations. You’ll stay at the patient’s bedside, help calm agitated individuals, remove hazards, and record observations.

Minimum requirements include BLS preferred and Crisis Prevention Certification; education of HS diploma or 1 year of related experience. This role offers meaningful work across multiple facilities with a supportive team.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider preferred; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted
• Crisis Prevention Certification preferred
• High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable experience required.

Responsibilities

• Remain at bedside of assigned patient at all times unless relieved by an appropriate staff member.
• Assist in calming and/or reorienting patient in cases of agitation or confusion.
• Remove visible hazards and/or broken equipment from immediate environment and report as appropriate.
• Record all observations.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Certification specializing in Crisis Prevention preferred.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
