Job summary

Ascension Health is seeking a Patient Attendant for the Float department to provide bedside care across Nashville, Murfreesboro, and McMinnville locations in Tennessee. The role includes night shift responsibilities and PRN scheduling flexibility, requiring strong observation and patient safety skills.

Minimum education is a high school diploma or equivalent or one year of related experience; BLS and crisis prevention credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or 1 year of relevant cumulative job experience.
• BLS certification preferred; crisis prevention certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Remain at bedside of assigned patient at all times unless relieved.
• Assist in calming and reorienting patients as needed.
• Remove hazards and report equipment issues.
• Record all observations accurately.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Remain at bedside of assigned patient at all times unless relieved by an appropriate staff member.
• Assist in calming and/or reorienting patient in cases of agitation or confusion.
• Remove visible hazards and/or broken equipment from immediate environment and report as appropriate.
• Record all observations.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted
• Certification specializing in Crisis Prevention preferred.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
