Job summary

Ascension is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Float Pool at Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown in Nashville, TN. You will provide direct nursing care, coordinate interdisciplinary care, and execute physician orders across varying assignments and acuity levels in a busy acute care setting.

Minimum requirements include a Tennessee RN license or multi-state compact, BLS within 30 days, and a diploma or nursing licensure.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Provides direct nursing care in a diverse acute care environment in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Implements, monitors, and updates patient care plans while assessing, documenting, and communicating changes in patient condition.
• Coordinates interdisciplinary care to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered outcomes.
• Executes physician and nursing orders while prioritizing and managing patient care needs across varying assignments and acuity levels.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Additional Preferences

• 12+ months of direct care experience as a Registered Nurse in a hospital setting.
