Job summary

University of Utah Health is seeking a patient-focused scheduling coordinator to act as the liaison between patients and clinical staff throughout the appointment journey. You will handle complex inquiries, schedule multiple appointments, and coordinate with providers and insurance processes.

You will collect payments, manage EPIC work queues, assist with prior authorizations, and support clinic operations.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of relevant experience in healthcare coordination or administrative role, or the equivalency.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and coordinates appointments, including surgical procedures and imaging.
• Manages waitlists and appointment capacity across locations.
• Confirms appointments and provides pre-procedure instructions.
• Tracks and validates patient records prior to appointments.
• Serves as primary liaison between patients, physicians, and staff.
• Processes payments and reconciles daily financials; may manage insurer agreements.
• Coordinates surgical cases, OR block time and multidisciplinary care.
• Performs outreach for new patient visits and transfer-of-care scheduling.
• Provides administrative support for clinic when needed.
