Job summary

Texas Health Resources is seeking an Admissions Specialist to warmly welcome patients and families, accurately collect demographic data for the electronic health record, and verify benefits and pre-certifications for relevant tests. You will explain financial obligations and prepare estimates, while upholding compliance and high-quality customer service in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Requires HS diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of customer service experience preferred; healthcare environment a plus.
• Proficient data entry, typing and computer navigation skills.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and families, set a comforting tone.
• Gather complete demographic information for EHR integrity.
• Identify network coverage and verify benefits/pre-certification for tests/procedures.
• Educate patients on legal, ethical, and compliance documents and obtain signatures.
• Explain financial obligations and prepare estimates for co-pays and balances.
• Ensure MSPQ, IMM, ABN checks are completed correctly.
• Maintain adherence to customer service/productivity guidelines.
