Job summary

Texas Health Allen Admissions Specialist is responsible for welcoming patients, collecting demographics, and ensuring smooth, compliant access to care. You will verify insurance, obtain pre-certifications, and educate patients on documents and financial responsibilities.

Your role includes accurate data entry, problem solving, and coordinating with multiple hospital departments to ensure a positive patient experience.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent required
• Associate's degree preferred
• CHAA - Certified Healthcare Access Associate preferred
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training required within 90 days of hire and maintained annually
• 1 year relevant customer service experience required
• 2 years professional office/healthcare experience in a hospital setting preferred
• 5 years customer service experience preferred
• 6 months of intermediate computer skills preferred
• 1 year healthcare, referral processing, scheduling preferred
• Medical terminology, strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, follow protocols and standards

Responsibilities

• Welcomes patients and families, setting a calm tone for the visit.
• Gathers demographic information for electronic health record integrity.
• Obtains/validates healthcare benefits and pre-certification for tests/procedures to maximize reimbursement.
• Educates patients/families about legal, ethical, and compliance documents; ensures consents are signed.
• Assists with estimating and collecting co-payments, self-pay deposits, and balances.
