Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in AP, healthcare billing, medical accounts receivable, patient account services, or revenue cycle operations.
• High school diploma required.
• Associate’s Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responds to escalated calls from patients, referral sources, and UMMS billing customer service agents.
• Works with Billing to review and correct self-pay coded charts for accurate, timely billing.
• Checks Workers’ Compensation and Occupational Health/Employer-Paid Service accounts for accuracy and required documentation.
• Monitors and manages assigned patient coordinator, billing, and account work queues to address outstanding items.
• Coordinates communication between internal and external customers and documents in a timely manner.
• Coordinates pre-operative testing, documentation, and results with surgical coordinators to support timely completion.
