Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• 3 years of hospital/healthcare customer service experience required; ED experience preferred.
• Current Jefferson Seamless Access Representatives with at least 1 year of experience meet requirements.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with patients, families, and staff per Jefferson values.
• Gathers accurate demographic information to identify Jefferson patients or assign new MRN.
• Requests photo ID and insurance cards; scans copies.
• Records complete demographic and insurance information and enters orders; confirms medical necessity for outpatient visits.
• Uses Real Time Eligibility, Phreesia or payer websites to verify coverage and patient liability.
• Ensures regulatory and compliance requirements are met and discussions are documented.
• Rotates through all Patient Access points (Outpatient Registration and ED).
• Collects out-of-pocket liability from patients at time of service.
