Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; associate degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years in hospital/healthcare customer service required; prior registration experience preferred.
• Current Jefferson Seamless Access representative with 1 year of experience considered as meeting requirement.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and gather accurate demographic and insurance information.
• Verify insurance coverage, benefits, and patient out‑of‑pocket liability.
• Enter orders and confirm medical necessity for outpatient visits.
• Interview Medicare MSPQ questionnaire for all Medicare patients.
• Collect payments and copays at the point of service; obtain referrals and authorizations as needed.
• Answer phones and assist patients and visitors in a courteous, professional manner.
• Rotate to all points of service within Patient Access (Outpatient Registration and ED).
• Maintain regulatory compliance and accuracy in all data entry and documentation.
