Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking an organized Patient Access Associate to handle scheduling, preregistration, financial clearance, authorization and referral validation, and pre-service estimations. You will help patients understand their financial responsibilities and create a positive first impression of AHN's services.

The role involves verifying benefits, calculating estimates, and posting transactions in the ADT system, while maintaining compliance with HIPAA and AHN policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or 1–3 months related training/experience.
• One year of related experience preferred in medical/financial services or customer service.
• Experience operating a PC and using software applications.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and preregisters patients; validates demographic data and insurance coverage.
• Verifies insurance information with payors and coordinates authorizations/referrals.
• Identifies patient financial responsibilities, estimates costs, and processes payments.
• Delivers a positive patient experience and maintains relationships with AHN staff and external contacts.
• Maintains productivity and suggests improvements.
• Complies with AHN policies and completes required trainings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
