Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; related experience may be considered.
• Prior healthcare, medical office, or insurance experience preferred.
• Basic data entry and computer literacy required.

Responsabilités

• Obtains information for hospital and physician records and enters it into the electronic health record.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information and complies with HIPAA regulations.
• Transcribes and validates patient orders.
• Schedules, re-schedules, and cancels appointments in the electronic health record.
• Verifies and assigns insurance coverages based on eligibility responses.
• Explains patient liability and collects prepayments and/or outstanding balances.
• Monitors and resolves errors in assigned workqueues.
• Advocates for patient engagement, including activation of MyChart.
• Assists with wayfinding and connecting patient to care.
• Performs additional duties to support departmental and organizational goals.
