Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; bilingual preferred.
• Proficient use of office equipment and ability to mobilize within campus.
• Experience with patient registration, insurance verification, and financial counseling is preferred.
• Knowledge of billing guidelines, payer information, and HIPAA/PHI basics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work under stress.

Responsibilities

• Capture and document patient demographics, insurance details, and payer information into the EHR.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits; determine patient financial responsibility.
• Educate patients on billing processes and direct to financial counseling when needed.
• Scan and attach documents to the patient record; ensure accuracy to minimize delays.
• Maintain compliance with privacy regulations and handle notices for medical necessity when applicable.
• Support registration processes during downtime and coordinate with physicians/offices as needed.
• Aim to meet productivity, accuracy, collections, and customer satisfaction goals.
