Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Proficient with office equipment (computer, fax, telephone, scanning copier).
• Must be mobile and able to push a patient in a wheelchair if needed within the hospital campus.

Responsibilities

• Capture and document all pertinent patient demographic, subscriber, and insurance information.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits by contacting patients, physician offices, and payors.
• Determine patient benefits and financial responsibility; collect co-pays, deductibles, and/or provide financial counseling when appropriate.
• Document payment information in the EHR system and complete required registration forms and consents.
• Scan and attach necessary documents to the patient record.
• Ensure accuracy of patient type, visit type, and demographic information to minimize errors.
• Maintain knowledge of billing requirements and insurance guidelines.
