Job summary

Mercy Hospital Perry is seeking a Patient Access Representative to be the first contact for patients, ensuring warm, efficient service and accurate data entry. The role handles scheduling, registration, benefit verification, pre-certification and financial clearance, with attention to Medicare guidelines and insurance details.

The position is 32 hours per week (PT) with day/evening/night shifts and rotating holidays and weekends; prior clerical experience and a high school diploma are preferred,

Qualifications

• 1-3 years clerical experience preferred.
• Experience with medical terminology and insurance plans preferred.
• High School diploma required; some college helpful.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, register, verify benefits, pre-certify and obtain financial clearance for patients.
• Ensure accurate patient data is entered into the record with attention to detail.
• Maintain knowledge of insurance carriers and Medicare guidelines.
