Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Spec Patient Access LOR for an as-needed PRN role in Ohio. You will perform admitting duties, pre-registration, insurance verification, and patient education while upholding Mercy Health policies and compliance.

The position emphasizes accurate data collection, excellent customer service, and adherence to regulatory requirements. Prior patient access experience and CPT terminology knowledge are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED – required
• 1-2 years of patient access experience highly preferred
• Medical terminology or CPT or procedure codes - preferred

Responsibilities

• Admit patients, collect insurance info, and process orders with accuracy.
• Explain and distribute consent forms and patient education materials.
• Pre-registration of patient accounts and demographic/insurance data collection.
• Screen medical necessity using ABN software and inform Medicare patients of possible non-payment.
