Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking an on-site Patient Registration Associate in Cambridge, MN. You will welcome patients, collect demographic and insurance data, and guide them through paperwork for appointments or procedures.

The role includes verifying eligibility, explaining costs, and assisting with financial aid applications. You will support a per diem schedule with daytime shifts, gain exposure to revenue cycle tasks, and potentially mentor staff, while ensuring accurate documentation in the

Qualifications

• 6+ months of customer service experience in an office/hospital setting.
• Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to work per diem, at least 2 shifts per month.
• Ability to work standard daytime hours, Mon-Fri for the first 3 weeks after hire in alignment with the training schedule.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Greets and welcomes patient in person.
• Collects demographic and insurance information.
• Checks in and interviews patients to complete appropriate paperwork.
• Directs patient to their appointment or procedure.
• May assist in scheduling add-on appointments.
• Documents issues and resolutions in the electronic medical record.
• Resolve claim issues or registration errors on patient accounts.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits information for payers.
• Assists patients with financial assistance programs and explains information.
• Provide customer service for inbound and outbound calls.
• May mentor other staff as needed.
